Quilt Trails of Western North Carolina

Both Mitchell and Yancey Counties have over 100 large quilt block displays that adorn picturesque barns in the countryside. Quilt Trails of Western North Carolina is a non-profit organization that runs this wonderful community enrichment project. The quilt blocks showcase one of Appalachia’s most loved crafts, quilt-making. Each block pattern is different and comes with its own story. The Quilt Trail gift shop is located across from the Parkway Playhouse. Call 828-682-7331 for more information on where to see the Quilt Blocks across the area.
