The Overlook's vista includes a view of 5 of the Black Mountain peaks. This 3 bedroom 2 bath house forms a "sound of music" setting on 18 totally private acres and can accommodate 8 guests. The private 400 feet of South Toe river frontage makes for ideal swimming and tubing with sunset views on the water. Tubes can be rented near by. Mt. Mitchell Golf and Country Club is only a 15 minute drive from the home.

The grounds surrounding the house are of a botanical garden quality. The 45 panel solar collector is a point of interest. The Overlook is a hidden paradise and the house is set up for enjoyment with a cook's kitchen ready for creating epicurean delights. Big fireplace with a wood burning stove, LCD flat screen TV with Direct TV and a Jacuzzi in the master bath. The home also includes high speed internet and laundry facilities. Conversation and reading niches abound in the 25 year old home. Built by a craftsman with an eye for permanence this house features Chestnut paneling, tile floors with radiant heat, an abundance of Chestnut kitchen cabinets and a passive solar greenhouse. 

Walk on the grounds and pick berries for a pie! Or head to the river for some exercise or just lazing around. Visit local artist studios- Glass blowers and ceramists abound. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only a short drive from the home.

This property represents an outstanding value as a vacation rental home.
